Title: TECHNOLOGY ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract:

The United Nations has recognised the need for a holistic approach of sustainable development where health, environment and social wellbeing are being targeted together through the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Prof Md. Yunus, the Nobel laureate has suggested a simple set of objectives called THREE ZEROS (zero poverty, zero unemployment and zero nett carbon emission) to be achieved based on technology, young innovative minds and good governance. For example,  the role of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) to build the essential building blocks of SDGs has been accepted, In particular, the proliferation of mobile phones in developing countries, have raised the spectre of better access to quality healthcare in a cost-effective manner. This presentation will discuss the role of mobile technologies for the development of healthcare sector (world's largest business sector) in the sustainable development of the Belt and Road countries.
